Planning my flight

I was itching to pack my bags, but first, I had to figure out where I was going. Using My Calculator, I checked how many Qpoints I would earn on my holiday. I noticed that if I flew to Bali, I would earn more than I needed to retain my tier, making it perfect for me.

Besides the number of Qpoints, My Calculator showed me how many Avios I would collect. Since I’ve reached the Platinum tier, could also score a 100% tier bonus on top of that, meaning that I would walk away with double the usual amount of Avios.

Added extras just for me

It’s not just my flight that matters. Every detail counts when I’m travelling across time zones. Before I left home, I used my Qcredits to buy extra baggage allowance and upgrade to Business Class. That way, I could carry everything I needed and fly in Qsuite. 

Since I was departing from Doha, I also used complimentary Meet and Assist Services, making it convenient to move through the airport. When I got there, my hostess was waiting and helped me to check in at a dedicated counter, saving me so much time.

Treats before take-off

Once I checked in, I spoilt myself with a new perfume at Qatar Duty Free. I loved the refreshing scent and paid with Avios to save 20%.

Then it was time to indulge at Al Maha Lounge South, where I couldn’t resist trying some of the delicious snacks. If I ever fly from an airport outside Doha, my oneworld® Emerald status will give me access to more premium lounges.

After relaxing and dining, my hostess showed me to my gate and made sure I got priority boarding. The whole process was a breeze thanks to her.

My sanctuary in the sky

I felt so special when I boarded the flight because the cabin crew greeted me by name after I got settled into my Qsuite. It had such generous storage space, that I could keep all my precious belongings with me during my journey.

Because I was on a long-haul flight to Bali, I had to get my sleep. Closing the doors and having the space to myself gave me all the privacy I needed. Then I slipped into soft pyjamas, snuggled under the covers of my lie-flat bed, and dozed off – just as comfortably as I do at home.

Arriving at my destination

As soon as I landed in Bali, I started my adventure in no time. My suitcases were labelled with orange tags to mark them as priority baggage, meaning that I could receive them faster. 

I headed directly to the hotel, where my stay was booked with Avios. Since they never expire, I can spend them with partners whenever I like. Thanks to that, I also rented a car using Avios to explore the island at my own pace.
