Host cities

The FIFA World Cup 2026™ will be hosted across 16 cities in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Since you could be travelling between countries, check where your chosen team are playing so you can plan accordingly. Each city has different transport options, accommodation and even entry requirements, depending on the country.

Decide whether you’re going to stay in one area, or if you’re dedicated to following your team, regardless of where they play during the tournament.

Travel requirements

Be sure to stay updated on entry requirements, as they can change unexpectedly. The USA’s requirements may vary by nationality. If you’re a citizen or national of a country participating in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), you could stay in the USA for up to 90 days without a visa.

Find more information on this from the US Department of State.

FIFA Pass

To make it even easier to travel to the USA for the FIFA World Cup 2026™, ticket holders of matches in USA host cities can enjoy FIFA PASS. This new initiative gives you the opportunity to access prioritised visa appointments in the run up to the tournament.

If you need a visa to enter the USA, be sure to apply as early as possible. Get more details on this from the US Department of State.

Flights

Book your flights to host countries of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ as soon as possible. This way, you can boost your chances of getting the flight you want without worrying if you’ll make it to the match in time for kick-off. The North American continent is huge, so you’ll also need to plan domestic flights if you’re hopping between host cities.

Remember to check logistical details in advance, such as the distance from the airport to your hotel or the stadium.

Accommodation

As with flights, make your hotel bookings as early as possible. The closer to the stadium your hotel is, the less travel time you’ll need.

However, you may need to be flexible with your budget, depending on how soon the event is coming up. Guest houses or self-catering accommodation could be good alternatives to consider.

Tickets

FIFA typically issues tickets in waves. Book directly with them to increase your chances of securing tickets for the matches you want to see. You can choose between team-specific and venue-specific tickets, which will have a big influence on your travel plans.

If you download tickets on your phone, check that your device is compatible with the apps used in the host country. As always, never buy tickets from an unauthorised source, and beware of counterfeit tickets and offers that seem too good to be true.
