We are spearheading the prevention of illegal wildlife trafficking with a zero-tolerance policy, in partnership with United for Wildlife (UfW). As part of our efforts, we provide transportation to organisations dedicated to returning wild and endangered animals back to their natural habitat. Additionally, we enable the United for Wildlife team to travel around the world to spread awareness on the effects of illegal wildlife trade.
UfW Transport Industry Declaration
Qatar Airways is proud to be an inaugural signatory to the United for Wildlife Transport Industry Declaration and a partner in the USAID Reducing Opportunities for Unlawful Transport of Endangered Species (ROUTES) Partnership.
In 2019, Qatar Airways became the first airline to achieve IATA's Illegal Wildlife Trade Assessment certification and has since maintained the certification in subsequent assessments.
WeQare
In 2020, Qatar Airways Cargo launched WeQare: Rewild the Planet, a new chapter of its sustainability program that transports endangered animals back to their natural habitat at no cost.
